When we got our first dog, Max, at the end of 1978 we didn't know what a Weimaraner was, and knew even less about the whole world of pedigree dogs and dog shows. Since then our interest and knowledge has grown, and we now share our house with 5 dogs!

Our dogs are first and foremost house dogs - and being a companion is the most important role a dog can play. Over the years we have become involved with various clubs and associations and in the 1980s we were founder members of the Hunt Point Retrieve Club of Scotland. Liz was initially Secretary and is now the Treasurer, and Bill is Vice-Chairman of that Club.

Nationally, Bill has been a committee member of the Weimaraner Club of Great Brittain, and Liz is a commitee member of the Brittany Club of Great Britain, and has also been a committee member of other local canine clubs.

We're not breeders - in over 20 years we have had one litter of Weimaraners, one litter of Brittanys, and our dog has sired a litter of Weimaraners - 16 pups in total, 3 of which - Ricky, Barney and Rosie - have stayed at home.

Liz normally shows the dogs, with Bill only being dragged into the ring - under protest - when an extra pair of hands is needed, but his support is invaluable at home as a dog sitter and exerciser when she is away!

Liz also judges at Open Shows and is on the "B" lists for Brittanies, Weimaraners and Hungarian Vizslas.

And apart from the dogs? Bill took early retirement a few years ago and now devotes a lot of his time and energy to a couple of musical charities - JAM and Trash Music Projects. The family have left home. One son lives in Nottingham - handy for dog shows in the Birmingham area! Their other son and his wife live in Edinburgh and presented us with our grandson, Tom, in July 2002.
